| George
Castle
Deep
inside the Madhav
National Park, at its highest point, stands the exquisite George Castle at a
height of almost 484 m (1597 feet). Interestingly the castle was built by Jivaji
Rao Scindia of the Gwalior royal family for an overnight halt for tiger
shooting by the British King George V, when he was to pass that way during his
visit to india in 1911.

Box
The shooting box is built on the Sakhya
Sagar Dam at a height of 40 feet. It was used as a hide to see
wild animals especially tigers in the night. It was built by then
Maharaja of Gwalior in the year 1936. It is a viewing lodge constructed
above the dam on the Sakhya Sagar lake. In the older days, one could
shoot wildlife, both with a gun and camera from here. Visitors could sit
under cover and watch a tiger at a kill. The Park visitors can also see
a number of migratory birds especially in winter. From this point, we
can also have a glance of large numbers of crocodiles sitting on the
rocks and bathing in the sun. You can say it is a “Machan” on the
dam.

| Bhura-kho
Tower
The Bhura-kho tower was built in the year
1915. The tower is situated deep inside the forests. The area
around this tower is very rich in different species of flora and fauna. The
shape of the tower is hexagonal. It is a heritage building.

Tower It
is situated at the hillock near the Sakhya Sagar lake. From top of this
tower, tourist can have full view of Sakhya Sagar and Madhav lakes huge
water body, forests and different variety of wild animals. It is a Watch
Tower. Visitors use this place to have a panaromic view of Sakhya Sagar
and admire scenic beauty. |

Baradari
It was built by then Maharaja of Gwalior Madhorao
Scindhia in the year 1915. The design is Italian. It is made of marble
stones. It has a dancing floor also. During that time folk dances were
organized at this place. The
erstwhile Maharaja of Gwalior used to entertain important dignitaries at
this place. It is a historical monument duly preserved.
It has a majestic look. The baradari faces “Sakhya Sagar”. |

was built in the year 1921. It was used for organising folk dances.
During British time, Princess conference were organised here. The
location is inside the forest on a hillock facing Sakhya Sagar lake. One
can find complete peace here.

| Sailing
Club
The Sailing Club was built in the Year 1919
by then Maharaja of Gwalior state for V.V.I.P housing. Half of the
construction is inside the Lake. When the lake is full of water to its
capacity, it appears like a floating “Shikara”.
It is situated right on the bank of Sakhya Sagar lake. From here,
tourists can have beautiful view of flora and fauna including variety of
migratory birds & marsh crocodiles. The club house is of
archeological importance. Sitting on the terrace during moon light gives
immense pleasure. |

Ghar
It was built in year 1921.
The design is Italian. Nawab Ali Khan Walia presented a big watch to
then Maharaja of Gwalior. The Maharaja installed that watch in the front
upper portion of this building. It was from here called this building
“Ghari Ghar”. It is a heritage building facing Sailing Club and
Sakhya Sagar lake.
